Do EU funded projects enable collaboration between scientists? the case of R&D in web-based collaborative learning environments

The case of R&D in web-based collaborative learning environments was discussed. A case of EU funded projects in enabling collaboration between scientists was also discussed. A design research project funded by the EC, the ITCOLE and the design of an international virtual environment based on pedagogical principles were used in the study. The role of web-based environments as tools to enhance collaboration within the classroom as well as across classroom was also studied.
