Abstract

Describes the role of self-report methodologies in the field of drug dependence epidemiology, including some of the newer techniques for collecting self-report data systematically via computers and with momentary assessment methods. Other methods for determining drug exposure (e.g., ethnographic field methods and cognitive evaluation) are also discussed and are contrasted with self-report methods.
