Abstract
The author discusses the erosion of the right to secession under international law. Topics addressed include developments in the regulation of self-determination according to international law, the denial of international recognition to secessionist movements seeking to exercise self-determination in Bangladesh and Kosovo, and the impact of the attempted secession of Crimea and Donetsk in Ukraine in 2014 on the law of self-determination.
