Abstract

Electron microscopy studies indicate a sulfur containing phase of approximate composition YBa2Cu3O6S in "fresh" samples. This compound is superconducting and its Tc is 91 K. Its phase is not twinned and the absence of the twin boundaries are responsible for the large Meissen effect found recently.
