Abstract

Summarizes results of two decades of research carried out near Sede Boker. Runoff accumulates along the rocky upper slopes and peaks at the upper colluvium part of the lower slope. It is at this interface where runoff tends to infiltrate and where the highest amount of standing crop occurs. Standing crop decreases significantly below this area. Nitrogen values increase along the slope until reaching the upper part of the colluvium but then decline rapidly towards the base of the slope; plant phytomass data display a similar pattern. -from Authors
