Abstract

Reflection holograms were recorded on a sample of paraelectric potassium lithium tantalate niobate (KLTN) crystals. The sample dimensions were 4×4×3 mm3, and the crystals were cut along the crystallographic [001] directions. Transparent ITO electrodes were deposited on the optical faces to align the external electric field with the direction of the grating wave vector. The diffraction efficiency from a planar grating as a function of the applied field during readout and electric field multiplexing (EFM) of three gratings are presented.
