Electron microscopy of human cytomegalovirus DNA

Abstract

Human cytomegalovirus DNA molecules isolated in an intact form from purified virions, were studied by electron microscopy. The viral DNA molecules were found to be linear and their average length 55.8±1.4 μm corresponding to a molecular weight of 107±2.7 × 106 daltons.
