Abstract
Electron-spin-resonance experiments are reported on the linear-chain compound (TaSe4)2I doped with Mn. A pronounced broadening is observed at the onset of charge-density-wave (CDW) transition, with a temperature dependence qualitatively following the CDW gap (T). We argue that single spin quadrupolar coupling between the Mn2+ ion and the CDW is responsible for the observed effect.
