Abstract
Several image operations result in an image divided into arbitrary subparts, with seams appearing between them. Such seams are apparent when aerial photographs are combined into photomosaics. Seams also appear when the image is broken into several windows, and processing, e.g. compression, is applied to each window independently. A relaxation method is described to obtain a function such that when this function is subtracted from the image the seams disappear, but the image details are not affected or blurred.- Author
