Abstract

Passage through multiple resonances and synchronization in the periodic Kdv equation was studied. The passage allowed efficient excitation and control of N-phase waves by starting from trivial (zero) initial conditions and using a weak [0(ε)] forcing. It was found that the thresholds for capture into resonance and small modulations of the main spectra, oscillating at 0(ε1/2) frequencies are the main signatures of synchronized Kdv states.
