Abstract
Blue to ultraviolet emission from several excited electronic states was detected as more than twenty weak bands in each of the four samples: crystalline caesium uranyl nitrate CsUO2(NO3)3; UO2(NO3)2·6H2O; UO2SO4·3.5H2O; and a uranyl borosilicate glass, all at 77 K. The bi-exponential decay of these higher states, and its variation with temperature, were measured.
