Abstract

Emulsions are used widely in the cosmetics industry in various products, including conditioners, moisturizers, lotions, creams, sunscreens, and shower gels. An emulsion is essentially a dispersion of droplets of water or oil in a continuous medium of the other. Types of emulsion, depending on the size of the droplets or the nature of their distribution, are macroemulsion or simply emulsion, microemulsion, miniemulsion, and double emulsions.
