Abstract

The encapsulation of non-oxide perovskite superconductor, MgCNi3 was analyzed. A direct catalytic process was carried out at 1000°C which resulted in formation of MgCNi3 encapsulated in carbon nanoflasks. MgCNi3 particles were well protected by surrounding graphitic layers which do not affect superconducting properties of nanoparticles. The results show that the Anderson limit for MgCNi3 nanowires is estimated to be of order of 10 nm.
