Abstract

Energy transfer between Bi³⁺ and Eu³⁺ is shown to consist of radiative and non-radiative processes. The temperature effect on the equilibrium between ³P₀ and ³P₁ levels resulting in the change of spectral overlap determines the probability of the non-radiative transfer.
