Abstract

Although titled “Epilogue,” this concluding section is anything but a final commentary; it rather opens up complex issues and problematics in communication ethics to which we, as a discipline, are turning. In some ways, this epilogue helped us assuage our own dissatisfaction that our handbook, despite its many chapters, still feels incomplete to us. There are so many other emerging debates and communication scholars whom we would like to have included in the second edition of the Handbook of Communication Ethics. In trying to keep the handbook to a reasonable size yet provide coverage of foundational and critical materials for students and researchers, we opted to invite people with different communication interests to join us in conversations about issues that matter to them and, we believe, to the rest of us.
