Epilogue

Abstract

Past conflicts continue to shape present realities and future trajectories, largely through their mediations and the ways they intersect with those of ongoing conflicts in Europe and beyond, amid profound uncertainty about what lies ahead. Drawing on the prospective dimensions of mediated memory and the dual backward- and forward-looking perspective of an epilogue, this short closing chapter reflects on the interplay between past and future as it emerges—sometimes implicitly—across the book's chapters.
