Abstract

Mechanic stresses in the surface layers of BaTiO3 Crystals are considered. Phase transition temperatures are measured by the acoustic emission (AE) technique. The above temperatures are displaced from the Curie point TC. The displacement values are estimated by means of crystal surface etching. The TC decrease is observed under external hydrostatic pressure and possesses linear dependence on the pressure. Surface layer etching causes the structure simplifying and the internal stress decrease.
