Abstract

The spin-flip scattering of conduction electrons due to Ce ions was measured by breaking the ESR bottleneck present in LuAl2:Gd and YAl2:Gd with the addition of Ce. The exchange interaction between the Ce ions and the conduction electrons was extracted using the model of Cornut and Coqblin.
