Abstract

Rate equations for competitive, uncompetitive and noncompetitive enzyme inhibition at low inhibitor concentration are derived. The possibility of distinguishing between these mechanisms is discussed. The relation of these equations to other rate equations and the determination of the total enzyme concentration from inhibition studies are discussed.
