Abstract

A fast system for x-ray imaging was developed. It was based on a pinhole camera coupled to a micropattern gas detector (MPD) with a gas electron multiplier (GEM) as amplifying stage. X-ray images of the plasma were obtained at a very high framing rate in a selectable X-ray energy range with different magnifications or views of the plasma.
