Abstract
Considerations of fault tolerance play a key role in designing networks of distributed computers. Surprisingly, no such analysis has been carried out for networks of 'distributed neurons'. We suggest here that as in distributed computer networks, the structure and properties of neuronal networks are designed to tolerate possible faults that may naturally occur in the network.
