Abstract

The fluorescence quenching in benzene vapor is investigated, using lifetime measurements. The self‐quenching reaction is studied at various temperatures and the activation energy for this process is determined to be 950 cm−1. The effect of some simple gases on the fluorescence lifetime is also studied.
