Abstract
A simple technique for focusing synchrotron radiation and thereby providinghigh intensity x-ray beams as small as 0.1 micron in diameter is described. Gradually tapered glass capillaries serve as the focusing elements. The first measurements of gain in the intensity of x-rays using focusing capillaries have been made.
