Abstract

The thermodynamics of pulsed in lasers was investigated. The formation and annihilation of laser light pulses in a multipulse regime at various pumping and intracavity noise level were studied. It was observed that individual pulses carried an almost constant quantum of energy. It was also found that pulses successively disappeared, one by one, in a cascade of first order phase transitions as noise was increased and/or pumping was decreased. A quantized rf power effect was observed for the thermodynamic multiphase light system.
