From man as locus of god's indwelling to death as temple's destruction: Notes on the history of a motif

This study begins with discussion of the ways in which late antique Jewish and Christian exegeses addressed the idea of a person as God's temple/tabernacle of the Spirit. This general perception is further employed as backdrop for contextualizing its particular sub-motif-attested e.g., in the Fourth Gospel and in rabbinic sources - that establishes a link between the fate of righteous individuals and that of the Jerusalem sanctuary and, more specifically, between their death and its destruction.
