Research output: Contribution to journalBook/Arts/Article reviewpeer-review

Abstract

Surveys representations of the deaths of Cato and Socrates from the 16th to the 18th centuries, focusing on two oil paintings by Italian artist Giambettino Cignaroli (1706-70), 'Death of Cato' and 'Death of Socrates,' because they demonstrate the most familiarity with Plutarch's depictions of the historic suicides.
