Abstract

Literature data on the standard molar Gibbs energies of transfer of ions X from water W into aqueous alcohol mixtures W+S, [formula omitted] (X,W → W+S)/kJ on the mol L-1 scale at 25.C, are compiled to the end of 1986 and evaluated according to the criteria established in previous parts. The data are presented at evenly spaced mass fractions w of the alcohol in the wixture interpolated where necessary. In the cases of a few ions transferring into aqueous methanol or ethanol ' ‘selected’ values are suggested. Smoothing equations relating [formula omitted] (X, W → W+S) to the mass fraction w of S in the mixture are then presented.
