Abstract
The generation of dense stable plasmas with temperatures of 8 eV using two step high current capillary discharge was reported. The discharge provided a convenient source of dense highly ionized plasma for laser plasma interaction studies. The time evolution of intensities of the continuum and the spectral lines profiles emitted by the discharge was observed.
