Abstract

Single high-mass diffraction dissociation processes are studied using the lattice version of RFT for αp > 1. Exact results are obtained for very large αp and one transverse dimension (D = 1), energy-momentum sum rules are shown to be satisfied due to the absorptive corrections. As in the case of fully diffractive production amplitudes, this consistency is achieved by a cancellation of the leading angular momentum singularity, a disc singularity, in every exchanged channel. For D = 2 it is indicated that the experimentally observed ration between the multiplicity in pomeron-hadron and hadron-hadron interactions is much smaller than would be expected in the supercritical region.
