Abstract
The author examines the relationship between the changing face of war and high technology. He gives a brief account of the way military technology and armed force have reinforced each other from about 1500 to 1945, and argues that from 1945 to the present there has been a degeneration in that military‐technological progress. The second part of this paper will be published in the December issue of The RUSI Journal.
