Abstract

An additional member of HRgY family, HKrF, was prepared through photolysis of the HF precursor and posterior thermal mobilization of H and F atoms. The observed vibrational spectrum of HKrF were compared with the existing calculations and the vibrational properties of the compound were studied using vibrational self-consistent field (VSCF) calculations. Two distinct matrix sites were observed and the fundamental absorptions for both forms were reported. The formation and decay of different site configurations of HKrF was attributed to thermal relaxation of less stable site into more stable site.
