Abstract

3d-4p transitions in Co-like and Cu-like x-ray spectra of W XLVIII and W XLVI (approximately 6-7. 5 A) and of Tm XLIII and Tm XLI (8-9 A) have been observed and identified. The spectra were obtained by irradiating planar targets with high-intensity laser light. Identification was based on isoelectronic sequence analysis and on comparison with ab initio relativistic calculations. The importance of configuration interactions in Cu-like spectra is pointed out. Agreement between computations and measurements was good.
