Abstract
Antidipsic drugs, implanted bilaterally into the rat hypothalamus affected urine excretion. Urine volume was augmented and the osmolarity lowered, as compared to controls with hypothalamic talc deposits and deprived of water. The possibility that both effects, adipsia and polyuria, may result from inhibition of hypothalamic osmoreceptor function is discussed.
