Abstract
This entry discusses concepts of information in statistics, including Fisher and Kullback information and the notion of precision as a measure of information. Application of these concepts is illustrated in two common biostatistical contexts: weighted combination of independent estimates (stratified analysis and meta analysis) and sequential monitoring of clinical trials (concept of information time).
