Abstract

Rare-earth-doped glasses are suggested as relative standards for use with compounds having narrow band excitation and emission of fluorescence. Thallium-doped alkali halides are standards suitable for determination of substances in alkali halide pellets, while thallium doped glasses can be used as standards for glassy substances or liquids in quartz cells.
