Abstract
By modifying the lattice action of spin and gauge models we insure that the system cannot tunnel between topological sectors by local Monte Carlo (MC) steps. We insure the correct weight of the topological sectors in the statistical sum by considering global MC steps. This strategy permits us to study the effects of topological objects in θ{symbol}-vacua, 〈Q2〉 scaling and chiral symmetry breaking in a straightforward way.
