Abstract

We expose the development of a true integration of FEM and design. This is done at the pre and postprocessing stage. At the preprocessing stage, combined use of the solid modeler tools and the FEM options leads to a very effective preparation stage. The postprocessing stage is facilitated by the very nature of the data structure of the solid modeler. Examples are given and future development exposed.
