Abstract

Guiding and velocity control of ultra high intensity, short laser beam by plasma channels is discussed. Slippage of accelerated electrons from the electron potential is the major problem in achieving the substantial electron acceleration. Laser energy is limited due to short acceleration distance. Laser diffraction limited focussing distance is used to determine this distance.
