Abstract

We report a determination of the interchain coupling via the frequency dependence of the proton spin lattice relaxation time in TTF-TCNQ. An effective value of t≈5.8 meV has been found. This relatively large value of interchain coupling stresses the validity of the mean field approximation for the description of the Peierls transition in TTF-TCNQ.
