Abstract

In order to maximize the delivery of chemotherapeutic agents to brain tumors, while minimizing the systemic toxicity, we have developed a new local sustained-release system consisting of biocompatible polymers impregnated with anticancer drugs. These polymers are surgically implanted into the tumor site.
