Abstract

Hundred piles of animal bones were found at the Qumran settlement and its plateau. All were found with intact (some) or destroyed pottery (majority). Were these piles, typical for Qumran alone, remains of meals, of sacrifices or did they serve another purpose? INAA, TL, DNA and C14 will try to give an answer.
