Abstract

Pure vibrational dephasing of I3- in two glass forming liquids was studied. Independent measures of inverse rate of population decay prove that population relaxation contributes negligibly to the dephasing rates. The results show that the ratio of fundamental to harmonic pure dephasing times remained in the range 2-2.7 at all temperatures.
