Abstract

Studies on the agricultural impact of siderophores have mainly focused on phytopathological aspects. Until recently the role of siderophores in the Fe nutrition of plants has been studied almost exclusively in nutrient solutions. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects and efficiency of bacterial siderophores as Fe carriers to peanut plants grown on a highly calcareous soil. Study materials, methods and results are discussed.
