Abstract

The use of molecular dynamics simulations to study the ion beam induced smoothening process of metal surface was discussed. The article also discussed about identification of the two smoothening mechanisms, operating simultaneously in both amorphous and crystalline substrates. Low energy coils were created for examining the burrowing mechanism in amorphous substrates.
