Abstract

This collection deals with a variety of topics in the long history of contacts between the Jews and Persian culture. Some of the studies deal with the Jews under Persian rule in Iran or in the provinces of the Empire and others are concerned with the literature created in the Persian language. Achieving a very high level of distinction, this literature turned Persian into a major tool of Jewish expression along with Aramaic, Arabic, Spanish and German.
