Abstract
Authors employ the tactic of deliberate ambiguity for diverse reasons. At times, it indicates the author’s avoidance of expressing a clear position; at other times, the ambiguity itself is the author’s position. Texts of oppressed or dominated groups that do not enjoy freedom of expression and thus must disguise their true messages, are an example of the first situation¹.
