Abstract

From a measurement of the isomer shift of the 83.4 keV rotational transition of ¹⁵³Eu we obtained a negative value for δ〈r²〉 = 〈r²〉_83.4 - 〈r²〉gr. This result is qualitatively accounted for by Kerman's theory of band mixing.
