Abstract

Jerusalem is well known as the Holy City of the three world faiths: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The aim of this paper is to show the decisive influence this fact has had on its geography. Special attention is given to the 19th century. Key factors in the evolution of Jerusalem are identified, and some general conclusions are drawn.- from Publisher
