N2 - The three Judd-Ofelt intensity parameters for erbium(III) are given in 17 different environments. The Ω2 parameter is strongly affected by covalent chemical bonding. In contrast, the Ω6 parameter is related to the rigidity of the medium in which the ions are situated.
