Abstract
The kinetics of the reaction between ferrimyoglobin and H202 has been analyzed. It has been shown that the observed red complex is an intermediate which becomes stabilized in the system due to the fact that it is both formed and decomposed by H202. A FeO3+ type structure for the complex has been proposed with strong π‐bonding between the metal and the oxygen atom.
